A little taste of the Balkans

Familiar to some.
Unforgettable for everyone.

Sarma, the slow way

Cabbage leaves, carefully wrapped around a savoury filling and left to simmer. Rich, comforting, and best with bread to catch every last drop.

Something from the pot

A sweet little finish

Flaky baklava, soft vanilla krempita, or a warm palačinka. Because a good meal deserves a sweet ending and a little more conversation.

Izvolite! Pass the bread. There’s enough for everyone.

Our kitchen. Your kind of place.

Some things taste better
when we’re together.

In a Balkan kitchen, hospitality starts with something to eat. A plate appears, the bread gets passed around, and somehow there’s always room for one more.

That’s the feeling we’re bringing to VERA. Food with roots across the region: peppers roasted until sweet, pastry folded with care, and slow-cooked dishes worth waiting for.

Come for a familiar favourite or something you’ve never tried. Bring your people, pull up a chair, and make yourself at home.

Our door is open.
Our table is yours.

Gdje ima za dvoje, ima i za troje.Where there’s enough for two, there’s enough for three.

A little ajvar on everything.

Sweet roasted peppers, a little smoke, and bread for the last spoonful.

Good food takes its time.

Slow pots, patient cooking, and the pleasure of a proper meal.

There’s no rush to leave.

Stay for a coffee. The best conversations happen after the plates are cleared.

A few little things.

New to Balkan food? Start here.

Try ćevapi with warm somun and ajvar for a smoky introduction, sarma for something comforting, or a crisp šopska salad to share. There’s no right way to start — follow your appetite.

Will there be vegetarian options?

Yes. Our proposed menu includes šopska salad, slow-baked prebranac beans, stuffed peppers, and vegetables from the grill. The dishes marked plant-based are made without animal ingredients in the proposed recipes. Please ask us about your dietary needs before ordering.

Does choosing a menu book me a table?

The menu vote helps us decide what to cook for our first night. It isn’t a booking. For opening-night enquiries, write to verarestaurant@vera.com.

Can I change my menu choices?

Of course. Choose your four dishes again and submit with the same name. Your newest menu replaces your earlier one, and your name stays off the public results.
